The Humanist Constitution is an attempt to modernize the US Constitution by stripping it of the bias of the defined class "We the people" at the time. The original constitution left out women (half the species), Slaves, and a whole bunch of other "Non-white and non-land owners." Remember, when this was written, only male landowners were allowed to vote. You had to have some dirt you were paying taxes on to have a contributory "say" in our governing. That is.. To Vote. Sounds absurd now, and as such, we must not be afraid to explore how any of this needs to change to align with current perceptions, or not. It has been Amended some 25 times. At what point is the surgery we call amendments become a Frankenstein? Why does changing this document scare so many people? Many of this document's creators assumed it would need to change. So here is a shot. I invite any conversation.
